About the project

Digital Window is an exploration of the digital realm through a tangible interface. This project utilizes a 32x32 LED matrix to display a real-time selection of 32 pixels from the user’s computer screen. By moving the cursor, the user navigates a micro-digital landscape, uncovering hidden elements—”Processing sketches, images, and videos—”embedded within the desktop.
To aid in exploration, a physical map provides guidance alongside an X and Y coordinate grid, allowing the user to orient themselves within this pixelated micro-world. Digital Window transforms screen interaction into a tactile and investigative experience, revealing the unseen details of the digital space.
